Most actors prefer to use a body double for action sequences, but TV artiste Gaurav Chopraa, who plays Raghuvendra Pratap Rathore in 'Uttaran', wanted to do the stunts himself. Recently, the actor was part of a sequence, which required him to jump in fire and save his on-screen daughter. “About two weeks ago, Ambika faked her death. So everybody was tracing her.
Unfortunately, when we reached the spot, the house she was hiding in caught fire, and she refused to come out for the fear of getting caught. It was quite scary to shoot there. There were chunks of wood that were falling off the ceiling. There was so much smoke that people were finding it difficult to breathe. While I managed fine, the other actors asked me, ‘How are you managing?’”
Gaurav revealed that doing this scene was no cakewalk. “This character is larger than life, and he often does action sequences, which is why I decided to do the stunts myself this time. By now, even the makers have expectations from me. Since my character is always dressed in suits, it gets slightly difficult to shoot action sequences wearing formals,” he adds.
