Having dabbled in production and singing, Juhi Chawla has gone well beyond being just an actor.
But she insists that acting remains her first love and is excited about shooting for her two films — Happy Anniversary and Chalk And Duster. She says, “I was really pleased with both the scripts. I have so many other things that I could be doing. If I have to dedicate so many days to a film, it has to be worth my while.”

She is not only creating awareness around the ill-effects of radiation through mobile phones, but also taking an active part in bettering the educational system. “I’m working with Prakash Munshi and Tejal Shingapure to bring awareness on what overexposure to radiation can do to your health,” she says, adding, “I’ll also be looking into the functioning of Arya Kanya Gurukul. It’s one of the first educational institutions in Gujarat meant for girls and has been run by my family for 75 years. I feel the current education system just pressurises children. It could be more relaxed and yet, our children could turn out better.”
While music plays an integral part of her life, she has also been practising yoga for many years and swears by its benefits. “All my life, I thought yoga was for old people, until I started doing it about eight years ago. Now I’m thinking of opening a yoga and rejuvenation centre on my farm in the outskirts of Mumbai,” she concludes.
