‘Half Girlfriend’ box-office collection Day 8: Arjun-Shraddha starrer maintains a steady run

‘Half Girlfriend’, which stars Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, saw collections in the range of Rs 1.25-1.50 crore (nett) on Day 8, according to a report on Boxofficeindia.com. With this, the total collection of the love story now stands at approximately Rs 48.50 crore. The film earned as much as Rs 47 crore over its first week at the ticket windows. Now, with the release of ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ on Friday, the Mohit Suri-directed romance drama has to face some competition at the box-office.

‘Half Girlfriend’ is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name. The love story explores the complicated relationship between Bihari boy Madhav Jha (Arjun) and rich brat Riya Somani (Shraddha), as their paths cross in a prestigious college in Delhi. The film then traces how their relationship evolves over the years, against the backdrop of three distinct worlds of Delhi, Patna and New York.
The makers threw a success bash on Friday night to celebrate the film’s strong run at the box-office. Besides the cast and crew of the film, Karan Johar, Rajkummar Rao and several other celebs attended the bash.
