'Dangal' box-office collection Day 5: Aamir Khan film crosses the Rs 150-crore mark

Aamir Khan's Christmas release 'Dangal', which also stars Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra and Sakshi Tanwar in lead roles, crossed the Rs 150-crore mark on Day 5, as it earned Rs 23.07 crore. After a five-day run, the total collection of the film now stands at Rs 155.53 crore.

'Dangal' ' a biopic on Indian wrestler and coach Mahavir Singh Phogat, entered the coveted Rs 100-crore club in the first weekend itself and is now racing towards the Rs 200-crore mark.The collections during the weekdays have seen a negligible dip, indicating that the film is here to stay. A sports drama film co-written and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, 'Dangal' is performing stupendously in East Punjab presumably due to its Haryanvi setting. In Haryana, the film is enjoying a tax-free status and is hugely benefitting from it.

With a domestic collection of Rs 155 crores, 'Dangal' has become the third highest grosser Hindi movie of 2016. Only 'Sultan' and 'Jungle Book' are now ahead of 'Dangal' at Box office. 'Sultan' did box office collection of Rs 300.45 crores where as 'Jungle Book' collected Rs 181.75 crore.
