it was the same dream that so many women of my generation had.” Rosenblum then came on the stage to talk about the “terrific year for American television”. He said, “What truly matters is that we never forget that our success is based on always giving the viewer something compelling to watch,” just as Vergara stepped on the pedestal and started rotating like a human statue. The sarcasm was lost on almost everyone and this segment only managed to spark an outrage.

Even as the stunt was slammed across media, Sofia defended it, saying, “I think it’s absolutely the opposite (of being sexist). It means that somebody can be hot and also be funny and make fun of herself. I think it’s ridiculous that somebody started this – I know who she was – who has no sense of humour (and should) lighten up a little bit.”
