MUMBAI: After a heavy downpour on Tuesday, rains continued to lash several parts of the city on Wednesday morning. Heavy showers were witnessed in parts of Malad, Kandivali, Andheri as well as parts of Thane.
The rain recorded in the 24 hours of August 29-30 (8.30 am-8.30 am) by the IMD Colaba observatory has been 111mm while the IMD Santacruz observatory recorded 331.4 mm of rainfall.
Rain recorded in suburbs comes under the extremely heavy rain category as per IMD's classification.
Rainfall recorded by the Santacruz observatory is very close to the all-time record rain of 346.2 mm which was recorded on August 22,1997.
According to IMD forecast intermittent rain showers with heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur in city and suburbs in coming 24 hours.
