Meerut: After a foiled attempt to erect the first Nathuram Godse bust in the country at their office on Meerut’s Sharda Road, the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha members have declared to commemorate November 15 – the day Godse was hanged – as ‘Balidan Divas’.
The day will be observed as Balidan Divas in over 100 offices of the Hindu Mahasabha, with Meerut being the key centre.
The members will also distribute books written by Godse, currently stocked in a library in the city, on November 15. They will also hold public meetings and blood donation camps and distribute audio CDs of an upcoming movie 'Godse' produced by a member of the Hindu Mahasabha on the occasion.
Pandit Ashok Kumar Sharma, member of the central working body of Hindu Mahasabha, said, “The first Godse bust was to be established in Meerut last year but the administration did not allow the same. The Balidan Divas will be observed on a large scale.”
