Bengaluru polls a huge setback for Siddaramaiah

BENGALURU: BJP has emerged as a clear winner in the BBMP polls, leading in 101 seats while Congress was ahead in 75 and JD(S) in 14 and Independents in eight seats.

Although, BJP has crossed the 100 mark, it might need to struggle to reach the magic figure of 104 which they need to gain control over Bengaluru civic body with the support of 24 non-corporator members (MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Bengaluru)
Congress, which was expected to emerge as the single largest party going by various exit poll predictions are hoping to win 80 seats and look for an alliance with the JD(S).
According to the latest results, BJP has wrest control over the BBMP.
The result is seen as a huge setback for ruling Congress and chief minister Siddaramaiah.
